  Laramie County Early Head Start is a home-based program for low-income pregnant women and children birth to age 3 and their families. 
 
 

Early Head Start goals:

 
  • support parents as their child’s first teacher;
 
  • enhance a child’s social, emotional, language, motor and cognitive development;
 
  • ensure that pregnant women receive complete prenatal services;
 
  • assist parents in obtaining the highest level of family support services through community partnerships.
  Program activities include:
 
  • receiving high quality child development training through home visits;
 
  • training through home visits;
 
  • strengthening parent/child bonds;
 
  • receiving health services in partnership with local providers;
 
  • attending parent/child group activities with nutritious meals and snacks;
 
  • learning infant massage and other parenting skills.
 
  • receiving support from other parents
  Eligibility:
 
  • Pregnant or have a child birth to age 3
 
  • If you receive any of the following:
 
  • POWER provided by DFS
 
  • Child care assistance provided by DFS
 
  • Infant home health visitation provided by City County Health
 
  • SSI or SSDI for child or family member
 
  • Adult basic education services provided by LCCC

  2 $12,830/year
  3 $16,090/year
  4 $19,350/year
 
  *  10% of Early Head Start families may be over income
*  10% of Early Head Start families have children with disabilities
