| Head Start Traditional Program | ||||
|
In a traditional Head Start classroom, children attend
class four days a week for 3 ½ hours a day. The classroom focus is on
teaching children the skills needed for success in school and life.
There is an emphasis placed on developing language, literacy and social
skills. Transportation to and from the classrooms is offered from
designated bus stops. Parents are key to the
success of the Head Start program. As the primary educators of their
children, they are encouraged to participate in all areas of the
program. Family Service staff serve as a link between home and school,
providing information and education on a child’s progress in the
program. Family Service staff also serve as a resource to families and
are able to provide valuable links to community services. |

| Head Start Full-Day, Full-Year Program | ||||
|
Head Start is also offering a full-day program,
Monday-Friday, that includes Head Start and child care in one package.
Children are with their Head Start teacher all day--learning,
experiencing and having fun. This opportunity is great for parents who
work or attend school and need a combination preschool/child care
program for their children. There is a minimal fee for the child care
portion of the day. Child care assistance is available through the
Wyoming Department of Family Services for qualifying families to help
cover the cost. |

| Head Start Early Enrichment Program | ||||
|
Made possible through a grant from the Wyoming Children’s
Action Alliance, the Early Enrichment Program allows us to serve
children in families whose income exceeds the existing federal
guidelines for the Head Start program. Children receive 3 ½ hours of
quality preschool on a four-day/week schedule and offers the same great
benefits of Head Start. Classroom sessions are available in the morning
or afternoon. Call our main center at 307-634-5829 to find out if your
child qualifies. |
