Community Action of Laramie County is dedicated to eliminating poverty by empowering people through education, advocacy, crisis intervention and providing opportunities toward self-sufficiency.

Community Action Promise
Community Action changes people’s lives, embodies the spirit of hope, improves communities, and makes America a better place to live. We care about the entire community, and we are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other.
Making a difference
- Head Start serves more than 360 preschool children.
- The Self-Sufficiency and Housing program assists more than 1,000 households annually --a total of about 2,500 individuals--with emergency help or by providing work-related needs.
- Self-reliance group workshops on money management, communication skills, budgeting and career planning are free and open to our clients and the public.
- Cheyenne Crossroads Clinic encounters over 3,000 men, women and children and is able to assist over 1,000 of those persons in need.
- Wyoming Kinship Advocacy has assisted kinship providers with approximately 44 Temporary Guardianship papers within the last year.
- CALC sponsors the AmeriCorps VISTA program which allows individuals to dedicate a year to fighting poverty in the community.
