Laramie County Early Head Start is a home-based program for low-income pregnant women and children birth to age 3 and their families.
Early Head Start goals:
-
support parents as their child’s first teacher;
- enhance a child’s social, emotional, language, motor and cognitive development;
- ensure that pregnant women receive complete prenatal services;
- assist parents in obtaining the highest level of family support services through community partnerships.
Program activities include:
- receiving high quality child development training through home visits;
- strengthening parent/child bonds;
- receiving health services in partnership with local providers;
- attending parent/child group activities with nutritious meals and snacks;
- learning infant massage and other parenting skills.
- receiving support from other parents
Eligibility:
- Pregnant or have a child birth to age 3
- If you receive any of the following
- POWER provided by DFS
- Child care assistance provided by DFS
- Infant home health visitation provided by City County Health
- SSI or SSDI for child or family member
- Adult basic education services provided by LCCC
