Laramie County Head Start: Pre-natal to 5 years

Mission Statement

The Mission of Laramie County Head Start is serving pre-natal children to age 5 is to ensure that children enter school with the necessary skills to succeed, to empower families to recognize and build upon their strengths and to enhance the self-worth and social competence of the children and families we serve by providing a learning environment that will allow all family members to reach their optimal potential.

Head Start is a comprehensive child development program. This program offers a variety of services that include the following:

• Individualized Teaching
• Education
• Nutrition
• Family and Community Partnerships
• Parent Involvement
• Health Screening
• Transportation
• Creative Curriculum
• Parent As Teachers Curriculum
• Mental Health Services
• Disability Services
• State Licensed

The Head Start Program offers class options for 3-5 year olds and a Home-based Program for pre-natal to 3 year olds.

Option 1:

• Preschool classrooms for 3-5 year olds
• Half day program
• September-May, A.M./P.M., Monday-Thursday

Option 2:

• Home-based program in Eastern Laramie County area
• Birth to age 5

Early Head Start:

• Services to pregnant moms
• Services to children birth to age 3
• Weekly home visits
• Group Socializations
• Developmental Screening

Income Guidelines:

We must have the following documents:

• Proof of income for past 12 months
• Birth Certificate
