CALC’s Self-Sufficiency/Emergency Services program offers a variety of tools to help families and individuals recover from economic, medical and other setbacks. One tool is to provide emergency financial assistance, including help with utilities/utility deposits, rent, security deposits and mortgage payments. Many times it is assistance with support services: transportation issues, identification or other items to assist a person in obtaining/maintaining employment. CALC is a referral source when there is another agency that is more equipped to assist with a particular need. This agency offers group workshops on money management, communication skills, career planning and others to CALC participants but these workshops are free and open to the public. For some individuals/families, they need more than financial assistance. In these cases, one-to-one assistance from a CALC case manager is provided to assist a person in developing a plan of action to get to self-sufficiency. The staff members sit on various agency boards to provide the best services and maximize resources to Laramie County residents. Click here for the Self-Sufficiency brochure.
A Self-Sufficiency Intake Application must be filled out prior to an appointment with a CALC Case Manager. Please print it and fill it out before coming in to the office for your appointment. For a copy of this form in Spanish, click here .
