About the Cheyenne Farmer's Market

The Cheyenne Farmers Market is Cheyenne's original and longest-running farmers market, bringing together local farmers, ranchers, food producers, artisans, and small businesses for more than 30 years.

Hosted by Community Action of Laramie County (CALC), the market takes place each Saturday from August through October at CFD Park and serves as one of CALC's largest annual fundraisers. In 2025, the market welcomed more than 30,000 attendees and generated over $600,000 in vendor sales.

The Cheyenne Farmers Market is also the only farmers market in Cheyenne that accepts EBT/SNAP benefits and provides token programs that help qualifying individuals and families access fresh, local foods.

Join us in continuing a tradition that supports local businesses, strengthens our community, and improves access to healthy food.

VENDOR FAQ'S

How do I apply to become a vendor?

Complete the vendor application and submit any required documentation. Applications are reviewed by market management, and approval is required before participation.

Can I participate in just one market?

Yes! Vendors may sign up for a single market, select market dates, or participate in the full season.

What markets are available in 2026?

The 2026 season includes:

Laramie County Fair Market – August 1 from 9 am - 2 pm

Downtown Market – August 8 from 10 am - 3 pm

Cheyenne Farmers Market Season – August 15 through October 17 from 8 am - 2 pm

What makes the Downtown Market different?

The Downtown Market is part of our new Road to the Market series and brings the market back to its downtown roots for a special one-day event. The Downtown Market can accommodate a broader mix of vendor types, including makers, artisans, boutiques, service-based businesses, and direct sales companies.

Is there a market fee?

Yes. In addition to booth fees, vendors participating in the Downtown Market and regular market season pay a 5% market fee based on their honest gross sales for the day. The 5% fee is waived for vendors participating in the Downtown Market.

Why is there a 5% market fee?

The Cheyenne Farmers Market is Community Action of Laramie County's largest annual fundraiser. Revenue from vendor fees supports market operations, food access initiatives, and CALC programs that serve individuals and families throughout our community.

How many customers attend the market?

The Cheyenne Farmers Market welcomed more than 30,000 attendees during the 2025 season, making it one of the largest recurring community events in Cheyenne.

How much do vendors sell?

In 2025, vendors reported more than $600,000 in gross sales, demonstrating the strong community support for local farmers, ranchers, food producers, artisans, and small businesses.

Do you accept EBT/SNAP?

Yes. The market accepts EBT/SNAP benefits, and eligible vendors are required to accept EBT tokens. We are also pursuing partnerships to expand Harvest Bucks and other food access initiatives that help qualifying families purchase more fresh, healthy foods.

What types of products can be sold?

The regular market season primarily features local growers, producers, food vendors, and artisans. Approved products include fresh produce, plants, baked goods, processed foods, meats, value-added agricultural products, and handmade artisan items.

Do I need permits, licenses, or collect sales tax?

Vendors are responsible for obtaining any permits, licenses, inspections, certifications, or tax registrations required for their business and products. Participation in the market does not replace these requirements. Some vendors may be covered under permits maintained by Community Action of Laramie County, while others may need to obtain their own permits or licenses. Requirements vary depending on the products being sold. Please see the full list of rules and regulations linked at the bottom of this section for more details.

Are inspections ever conducted?

Yes. Local and state agencies may occasionally visit the market to verify compliance with food safety, licensing, permitting, and tax requirements. Vendors should ensure they have any required permits, licenses, and documentation available if requested.

How do booth fees work?

Booth fees vary based on the number of markets attended and booth size. Vendors who commit to multiple markets receive discounted rates compared to week-to-week participation. Booth fees and payment deadlines are outlined in the vendor application packet.

Who do I contact if I have questions?

Questions can be directed to the Cheyenne Farmers Market team through the contact information provided on the application. We're happy to help vendors navigate the application process and determine what permits or documentation may be needed.
