Veteran Housing Services
Community Action of Laramie County’s Veteran Housing Services program provides short-term transitional housing for homeless veterans in partnership with the Cheyenne VA Medical Center. Eligible veterans—those with any discharge status other than dishonorable—can access up to 90 days of housing while working closely with case managers to secure permanent, stable living arrangements.
Why It Matters
Where it matters
The program offers a supportive environment where veterans receive individualized assistance tailored to their needs, including help with employment, transportation, and access to healthcare. The program is designed to empower veterans to regain independence and self-sufficiency and to honoring those who served by helping them rebuild their lives with dignity and support.
Veteran housing services address a critical gap in support for those who have served our country but now face homelessness or housing instability. Many veterans struggle with challenges like unemployment, mental health issues, or lack of access to affordable housing. This program provides not just shelter, but a pathway to stability—connecting veterans with resources, case management, and community support.
By offering transitional housing and individualized assistance, these services honor veterans’ sacrifices and help them rebuild their lives with dignity, independence, and hope.
