This initiative gives you the chance to make a real difference in the lives of families in need. What is the Adopt A Family Holiday Event?

The Adopt A Family Holiday Event connects generous individuals with families in need during the holiday season. By adopting a family, you can provide them with gifts, toys, and essential items that can brighten their holiday experience.

This event not only supports families but also builds a stronger sense of community. It’s a heartfelt opportunity to show compassion and solidarity with those who may face challenges during this time of year. For instance, last year, we supported over 50 families, distributing gifts and demonstrating the significant impact we can make together.

How to Get Involved

Applications for Families in Need

We encourage any families in need to apply! Applications will be accepted throughout November 25th. To apply, please visit our website and complete the application form. Once completed, please email to referrals@calc.net or bring it in person to 1700 Westland Road. Please keep in mind that this program is for eligible families and based on sponsorships, donations and the generosity of our community. Not all requests will be funded.

Donation of Wrapped Gifts and Toys

One of the most impactful ways to contribute is by donating wrapped gifts and toys. We are looking for new, wrapped toys and gifts suitable for all ages, from infants to teenagers and even adults and pets if you wish!

When you donate, please include a tag that indicates the age and gender of the intended recipient. Last year, 70% of families expressed that the gifts they received were exactly what their children wanted, thanks to thoughtful tagging.

Monetary Donations

If you prefer to make a monetary donation, we welcome that as well! Your contributions go directly towards purchasing gifts and essential items for families in need. Every dollar counts; for example, a $50 donation can provide a family with several essential items, creating a memorable holiday experience.
